Zumba "Exercise in Disguise"
     Participants have so much fun they don't realize they are exercising. Zumba is a Latin-inspired dance with International music and dance movements, which create a dynamic, exciting, and effective fitness system! It integrates basic principles of aerobic, interval, and resistance training to maximize caloric output, cardio benefits and total body toning. The easy to follow steps are for everyone!

Michelle was first certified as a Zumba instructor in September of 2008. In 2010 she was certified for Zumba Gold and Aqua Zumba.

Yoga
     Experience the benefits of yoga at classes geared for both beginners and continuing practitioners. This class will introduce students to an enjoyable and rewarding discipline that benefits the health and flexibility of the joints and posture, and builds core strength and endurance.                 
     Yoga teaches you to recognize and release muscle tension, relax, refresh and recharge. Strengthen the core of your body, strengthen and stretch the spine and legs. You do NOT have to be a contortionist to do Yoga!! 
     Participants are required to bring their own mats.

Family Cooking: Meals
     Stretched for time and money? Running out of ideas for meals? Kids and parents will create a meal that is easy, nutritious and inexpensive. Children need to be at least three years old and be accompanied by an adult(s).

Landscaping
     This course will walk you through the steps to designing your own landscape. You will start with a photo of the area you want to change. From there Shawn will work with you to bring your design to fruition. Pictures of gardens that Shawn has designed will be presented. He will tell you what works and what does not work. You will be asked to provide pictures of gardens that you would like to see in your landscape.  He will help each participant individually plan their landscapes. We will provide paper, rulers, and pencils.

Family Cooking: Snacks
    Kids, moms, dads, grandparents! Come join us as we embark on a creative journey into the wonderful world of lip smacking snacks. Sharon has worked with children and adults teaching a variety of subjects and is particularly interested in teaching the benefits of nutrition and how to include children of all ages with the preparation of snacks and meals. Class will run with a minimum of three families (Family = Parent/Guardian and children OR Grandparent, etc. and children). A maximum of 5 families will be accepted.

Woodworking w/Bob Hindal
     Projects for this class can be larger than in past classes that we’ve offered, as we have storage for your items. This class will also include woodturning and laser engraving. If you choose you will be able to order small project kits at the organizational meeting on 2/2. Participants are responsible for cost of materials, which will depend on project(s) chosen. This class is an exceptional opportunity:

  • Learn by working alongside an expert designer and craftsman who knows what to do.
  • Have fun learning in a low stress and safe environment using professional tools, and in the company of like-minded people.
  • Discover your own personal touch, making your finished piece an individual expression of yourself.
  • Find the beauty hidden within each piece of wood.

  Learn how to knit, crochet, and sew!
     Mary will provide instruction, advice, and support on your sewing, knitting and crocheting projects! Whether it’s quilting, patching, or sewing a garment; or knitting or crocheting that first scarf, you are sure to enjoy the low stress and camaraderie of this class. What? No sewing machine? Sewing machines are available for your use. Do you need help with that difficult project? This is the place for you! Lots of chit-chat about this-that-and-the-other-thing. What else could happen when a bunch of good-looking women get together? Register and join the fun!

Childcare Training for Tweens and Teens
     This two-day workshop is designed for students (11 years and up) who are interested in babysitting for young children. Areas covered: child development (0-5 years), health, safety, discipline, nutrition, and activities for young children. Bring a doll or teddy bear. Information on shaken baby syndrome will be discussed.

MS Word for Beginners
     This course covers basic word processing skills.
Students will learn to create, edit, save, format and print documents. Basic computer skills are required for this class.

     Sharon has her Bachelors in Education and her Masters in Education and Professional Development.  She has over 35 years of experience in the field of education and has taught PreK through adult learners at local public, private and technical schools and homeschooled for two years. Sharon has been in middle and upper management positions at Head Start; and is now an independent consultant providing a variety of trainings, seminars, workshops and classes. She is certified through the state of Wisconsin as a Shaken Baby Syndrome Trainer and is also qualified as an Adult Trainer with The Registry.
Sharon is the mother of two adult children and grandmother of two.  She and her husband Michael were Foster Parents for four years.
